Netlify-cms: duplicating in list widget

My client is running into an issue in netlify-cms where when they move an item in a list, that item gets duplicated and the duplicate is moved to the new position, while the original item stays where it was.

Here is an example configuration for a list where this is happening:

- label: "Projects Page"
        name: "projectspage"
        file: "content/pages/projectspage.md"
        fields:
          - { label: 'Featured Projects', name: 'featured_projects', widget: 'list', 
              fields: [ { label: "Project", name: "project", widget: "relation", collection: "projects", search_fields: ["title"], value_field: "id", display_fields: ["title"]}]
              }

The project relation gets duplicated.
