Image Slider using gatsby-starter-netlify-cms

Hi! I am using NetlifyCMS with this starter GitHub - netlify-templates/gatsby-starter-netlify-cms: Example gatsby + netlify cms project . I would like to use a image slider instead of the hero image on the index page. I am not too familiar with GraphQL, but know that the hero image is referenced in GraphQL and in the cms.
Did anyone every construct a slider out of the already existing hero banner (components/FullWidthImage.js) ?
