Custom branch domains

Hello Netlify Support Team,

I’ve read the [[Support Guide] How to use Netlify’s branch deploy feature without Netlify DNS] (https://answers.netlify.com/t/support-guide-how-to-use-netlify-s-branch- deploy-feature-without-netlify-dns / 128) tutorial.

There is a statement under the 2nd step:

There are two important considerations:

the subdomain must match the branch name (“slugified 44” as needed)
the subdomain will be under the primary custom domain

I have following projects with these dev domains:

admin-fastandcomfy with https://admindev.fastandcomfy.io
affiliate-fastandcomfy with https://affiliatedev.fastandcomfy.io
wizard-fastandcomfy with https://wizarddev.fastandcomfy.io
developers-fastandcomfy with https://developersdev.fastandcomfy.io

Every domain points to correct site via CNAME. (see screenshot)

Would be possible to have custom branch domains without these considerations?

Hey @fastandcomfy,

Unfortunately, as the guide mentions, the name of the branch should exactly be the name of the subdomain. So, admindev subdomain would only work for admindev branch and so on.
