Any updates on Deno 2 or alternative runtimes for Edge Functions?

Hi Netlify team,

I’m trying to get some functionalities working on Edge Functions, but the current Deno 1 runtime feels quite limited and outdated. It lacks filesystem access, MongoDB client support, and Prisma compatibility, which makes it difficult to build more advanced applications.

I’d love to know if there are any updates on upgrading to Deno 2 or, even better, if there are plans to allow alternative runtimes (like Bun).

I asked about Deno 2 support around 6 months ago, and the answer at the time was that it would be available “in about 2 months.” Unfortunately, we haven’t seen any progress or updates since then :man_facepalming:

Could we please get a clear timeline or update on this? Netlify has released many great features recently, but this one feels like a major blocker for developers relying on Edge Functions.
