404 error when opening site from github created in Visual Studio (.cshtml files)

I am trying to host a site through github created in Visual Studio. I keep getting the “404” error - page not found.
Site url: wonderful-pasca-9c4475

The only reference page to help with this I could find here:

Does not make a lot of sense to me in terms of what is actually going on and what needs to be done. I can maybe infer that Netlify requires or “looks” for an index.html file as an opening file to my site.

But what If I don’t use .html files? I am only using .cshtml view files. If I add a useless index.html file into my project Netlify does open that page. But that is not going to help me.

I tried specifying the page to open as the base directory when creating the site in Netlify as: /home/index.cshtml and /views/home/index.cshtml Neither of them work.

What is required for my site to work on Netlify please?

It would be even better if there is a way to understand what is going on.
Thank you.

I’m afraid .cshtml pages aren’t going to work @lmnet.
