Hi,
I run a multi-tenant SaaS on Netlify. Each customer (a church) gets its own
subdomain, e.g. assembleia-de-deus-madureira.nexps.net. All subdomains are
served by the same site — the app reads the tenant from the hostname.
My setup:
- Site name:
nexps - Primary domain:
nexps.net - DNS: Netlify DNS (confirmed — nameservers are
nsone.net) - Existing domain aliases:
www.nexps.netandchurch.nexps.net - Current plan: Free
I understand wildcard subdomains are not self-serve (the “Add domain alias”
field rejects the asterisk), so before I upgrade I’d like to confirm the
requirements:
- Which plan is required — is Personal enough, or does it have to be Pro?
- Do my existing domain aliases have to be removed for the wildcard to work?
- Does the primary domain need to change to match the wildcard level, or can
it stay asnexps.net? - What is the correct target value for the
*CNAME record in the Netlify
DNS zone?
I’d rather get this confirmed up front than upgrade and discover a blocker
afterwards.
Thanks,
Paulo
