Verify Custom Domain Using TXT Record

Our Netlify site name is: uclalibrary.netlify.app

We are attempting to add the following domain names to our site configuration:
library.ucla.edu
www.library.ucla.edu

However we are receiving the error message:

ucla.edu or one of its subdomains is already managed by Netlify DNS on another team.

Based on this post [Support Guide] "another site is using this domain" Verifying domain ownership for Netlify production domain, I am supposed to create a TXT record in our DNS so Netlify can verify our domain.

A TXT record for verified-for-netlify.library.ucla.edu with a value of the link to this forum post is now available.

dig -t txt verified-for-netlify.library.ucla.edu

Please let me know what else is needed to verify our domain. Thank you.

@fool @audrey - Hoping to call your attention to this post so we can get our domain verified by Netlify. We are trying to deploy our website, but we are held-up by this domain verification step.

Please let me know if you need anything to proceed with this request. Thank you for your help.

Stephen

Hi Stephen,

This was resolved in helpdesk ticket #132643 that your teammate, Joshua, opened.

I have not received any replies from Netlify after sending in my request for help

@audrey How do I see that ticket? And why did I never receive a response

Hi Joshua ,

We replied yesterday at 9:06pm EST. Could the email be in your spam folder?

Posting our helpdesk response below:

Thank you for asking about this domain (www.library.ucla.edu). Grant here at Netlify escalated this ticket. I’ve made a change and you should be able to add the domain to your site now.

However, if there are still errors, please do reply here and someone will response promptly.

Hi @audrey thank you for the reply. And thank you for resolving the issue. We were able to launch our new site today.

I checked my junk mail folder and the quarantine. Nothing from Netlify. I have had no problems receiving emails from the billing and sales departments at Netlify. Do the support messages come from a different domain? I would like to sort this out so it doesn’t happen again the next time we need help. Can someone at Netlify contact me directly using my individual email instead of the generic billing email associated with the account so that we can troubleshoot why I am not getting any responses? My first and last name with no underscores at library.ucla.edu

Hi @Joshua_Gomez , glad to hear you were able to launch your new site yesterday! :rocket:

The support messages are sent from support@netlify.zendesk.com. I’ve CC’d you using your individual email address on the helpdesk ticket. Hopefully, it will arrive safely in your inbox!
