Unable to login using Safari or DuckDuckGo browser

I am completely unable to login to Netlify using Safari or the DuckDuckGo browser. Even when disabling all content blockers in Safari, and when disabling all protections in DuckDuckGo. I had to use Firefox to be able to login.

  1. Go to Netlify, fill in the form, submit
  2. A progress bar shows
  3. It redirects back to Netlify, no message is shown, no error, nothing

I have the same problem, I cannot log in with Safari, but Chrome works. If I disable 2FA, I can also log in on Safari.

Could you verify what version of Safari you’re using?

This is with Safari 18.1 on macOS 15.1. Note that I’ve disabled and re-enabled 2FA since, and now I can log in. However, if I log out and then try to log in again, I do not get the 2FA prompt after entering my email and password.

Version 18.1 (20619.2.8.11.10) on macOS 15.1 (24B83). Basically just the latest versions.

@cbrnr @Loopwerk Thanks for confirming. I’m using the same versions and have been unable to reproduce this issue on my end, unfortunately. Are you able to provide a redacted HAR file demonstrating this issue?

I have no clue what a redacted HAR file is?

@Loopwerk you basically record all network traffic using the developer tools, see e.g. here: Generate a HAR file - Safari | Ansarada Help & Support.

I cannot upload the file (“New users cannot upload files.”).

I’m having the exact same issue as well. Was there a resolution?

Sorry about that! Another customer was able to send over a HAR file demonstrating this issue. Could you confirm one more thing - when you’re redirected back to the login screen, if you try to log in again, are you successful the second time?

No, it never works. The only “fix” is when I remove 2FA and re-enable it, then it works for one single time.

Got it, thanks for confirming! I’ve escalated this issue to our dev team, I’ll loop back once I have updates to share.

I’m having the same problem in Safari. It accepts the email/password, but instead of showing the 2FA dialog, it goes back to the main login dialog.

Works fine on Chrome

Thanks for letting us know! I’ve added that information to the escalation.

This should now be resolved. Please let us know if you continue to see issues!

Seems solved. Thanks!
