Netlify now prefer to handle these requests via their helpdesk ticket system, as seen here:
So once you’ve got the TXT record fixed, you may want to lodge an enquiry there too.
Unfortunately I’m not sure what you’re supposed to select for “What kind of help do you need?” when completing the form, as I don’t believe they’ve ever said.
Oops! Thanks! I accidentally forgot to go in and edit the whole thing when I got the URL.
The AI told me to come to the forum, so I did. I’ll submit a support ticket, thanks!
I tried to submit a support request and it actually failed and said to email support, so I did, and emailing support directed me to this forum. So I am back if someone can help me.
@thesourcecodegirl I expected you might get ‘the run around’, it’s why I said:
The form at netlify.com/support has traditionally only been for people with a paid account, or a few select issues that require Netlify’s staff to intervene, it’s why the top of the page says:
Usually the issue you’re dealing with was handled on the forum, and only very recently (in the last few days) have they decided to start directing people with this issue to the Support Form instead.
So it has become ‘one of those select issues’.
I believe the idea is that any issue where it’s known that Netlify Support must manually intervene (as there is no ability to self service), should be directed to their helpdesk system instead.
They should change the instructions and form messaging/options to make it clear and prevent the kind of loopback you just suffered.
Hey @thesourcecodegirl , I apologize for the confusion surrounding this. I’ve shared Nathan’s great feedback for our support form to try to avoid this situation in the future!
Thanks for making the TXT verification record! I’ve released the DNS zone so you can now use it on your account. You can now delete the record. Let us know if you have any trouble adding the domain. Thanks!
