Hi,
I am on the Free plan and I am about to request a site transfer to another team through the
support form (“Transfer a site to another Netlify account”). The destination team is also on
the Free plan, and the two teams have no shared members.
Before I submit that request, I would like to confirm three things, because the site is in
production and I will lose dashboard access once it moves.
-
Are site-scoped environment variables preserved through the transfer? The transfer docs
mention losing plan-restricted settings and dashboard access for non-members, but say
nothing about environment variables. I want to be sure the site will not break the moment
it moves. -
Is the existing *.netlify.app subdomain kept after the transfer? Keeping the current URL is
the whole reason I am transferring rather than deploying fresh. -
The linked Git repository will stay in my personal GitHub account and will NOT be
transferred. After the site moves to the other team:- do automatic deploys from pushes to that repository keep working?
- does the receiving team need to re-link the repo or authorize the Netlify GitHub App on
their side? If so, what do they need to do, and does it require access to my GitHub
account?
If the answer to 1 is “not guaranteed”, I would appreciate knowing the recommended order of
operations so the receiving team can restore the variables immediately after the transfer.
Thanks!
