In the absence of a custom certificate, is there a method available to update the external DNS for a production site without experiencing any downtime?

We have bare domain like example.com and subdomain like www.example.com
When attempting to direct our existing DNS from Azure to Netlify (our Hosting server), we encountered an SSL error. We would appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter.

Outlined below are the steps we’ve undertaken on the Azure portal:

  • Modified the TTL value from 1 hour to 10 seconds.
  • Updated the DNS records to point to Netlify.
  • Encountered an SSL error during the process.

You can add a custom SSL certificate to Netlify till the DNS propagates and Netlify is able to provision a SSL for you. But if you can’t get a SSL certificate, unfortunately, there’s no way to avoid that time.
