Deployed my app just fine using Netflix generated app name (https://charming-phoenix-676bab.netlify.app/). Now I am trying to use my own domain (congral.tech) that is registered at namecheap.com. Trying to follow your instructions at Netlify App I got the error message stated in the name of this topic.
Hey @adriatic and welcome to the forums.
Are you wanting to use Netlify DNS, or are you wanting to use external DNS? See
Currently congral.tech
appears to use Namecheap DNS, and there are no A records. There is a CNAME on the www
subdomain pointing to congral-tech.digitalpress.blog
.
Have you added congral.tech
to Netlify under the Domains area of the UI?
Read the above support guide and configure congral.tech
as per the appropriate documentation linked above. I use Namecheap myself so if you have any further issues, I’m happy to help.
Further support guides for DNS/SSL are also compiled in
Thanks for pointing out my mistake by writing:

I completely forgot that congral.tech
is being used (by me, that is), so I purchased a new domain, set the name servers (at namecheap) to point to Netlify DNS servers and am now waiting for this change to propagate.
If by tomorrow I am still unable to use this new domain (rw-community.org) as the custom domain for my app deployed at Netlify, I will have to come back for more help.
Thank you @coelmay
Yes, @coelmay - I prepared everything for deploying with my domain, so it got created and deployed overnight. If I may ask two more questions:
-
How to change this to remove the www - so my app is accessed as
https://rw-community.org
? -
Does this app as remains linked with the Github repo, so I can continue developing it by updating the code in the repo?
