Hi Netlify Support team,
I’m currently trying to finish setting up my custom domain, but I’ve hit a backend error loop when trying to provision my SSL certificate. Could an engineer please take a look at my account and help reset the certificate state?
Here are the specific details of my site and the issue:
-
Your site name: rainbow-paprenjak-581af1.netlify.app
-
Your custom domain: untangling.net
-
The exact error message: “certificate parameter is required when updating an existing certificate”
-
Confirmation that DNSSEC has been resolved: Yes, DNSSEC has been completely disabled at the registrar (GoDaddy). GoDaddy’s active panel confirms that DNSSEC is turned off and no DS records exist. Netlify’s primary DNS verification now passes with a green checkmark, confirming the connection is clear.
-
The troubleshooting steps you’ve already taken:
-
Verified that nameservers are correctly pointing to Netlify.
-
Checked the registrar dashboard to ensure no domain forwarding or URL redirects are active.
-
Fully disabled DNSSEC at the registrar and allowed time for propagation.
-
Removed and re-added the custom domain within the Netlify UI to flush the local setup.
-
Attempted to trigger the Let’s Encrypt provisioning step manually, which successfully passes initial verification but fails at the generation stage due to the database parameter error.
-
It looks like the initial DNSSEC block left a stale or corrupted certificate record in the database that is now blocking a fresh install. Could you please purge or reset the TLS/SSL certificate state for this site on your end so I can cleanly provision the Let’s Encrypt certificate?
Thank you so much for your help!
