Stuck on "preparing your domain"

Changed nameservers to that of Netlify’s on the hosting provider’s platform (Godaddy) yet the domain doesn’t seem to redirect to the site that’s deoployed on Netlify.

netlify site name. Example: centaurai.netlify.app
Custom domain I want to connect: “centaur.io

I am very new to web development. So I’d appreciate if you explain in simple language.

When I watched solutions on yt for the same, they got “awaiting external dns” prompt but I didn’t. Am I doing everything right so far?

I’m not seeing Netlify’s NS records set against your domain, for example:
https://www.whatsmydns.net/#NS/centaur.io

Check what you’ve done in GoDaddy.

The Netlify documentation is here:
https://docs.netlify.com/domains/set-up-netlify-dns/

They even link to the GoDaddy documentation here:
https://www.godaddy.com/en-au/help/edit-my-domain-nameservers-664

I did the same thing. I updated netlify’s nameservers in go daddy (4 name servers), yet it still says preparing your domain. I waited overnight yesterday but it still said the same thing. Performed multiple attempts yet it still says ‘preparing your domain

@prani Check the link I provided, it shows that your domain has ns1.dan.com and ns2.dan.com set.

Neither of which are Netlify nameservers, they’re GoDaddy nameservers.

At this stage you should be reaching out to GoDaddy’s support, not Netlify’s.

If it doesn’t work once the nameservers are actually set to Netlify’s, then you could try here again.

It was a silly mistake on my end! I’ve got it resolved now. Thank you so much for your time and patience
