SSL Certificate Renewal Failing – Stale Wildcard Certificate for amyemstill.com

Hi Netlify Support,

I’m having an SSL certificate provisioning issue with my Netlify site:

Site: glowing-naiad-b4bc7b
Custom domain: amyemstill.com

The domain uses external DNS through Bluehost.

Nameservers:

DNS records:

  • amyemstill.com → 75.2.60.5
  • www.amyemstill.com → glowing-naiad-b4bc7b.netlify.app

The inactive Netlify DNS zone has now been deleted as recommended.

However, the HTTPS section still shows the expired Let’s Encrypt certificate:

*.amyemstill.com, amyemstill.com

and continues to show:

Acme::Client::Error::RateLimited: too many failed authorizations (5) for "*.amyemstill.com"

The previous validation error was:

NXDOMAIN looking up TXT for _acme-challenge.amyemstill.com

Since Bluehost is the authoritative DNS provider, could you please:

  1. Remove the stale wildcard (*.amyemstill.com) certificate configuration
  2. Clear the stale/rate-limited certificate state
  3. Re-provision a standard Netlify-managed Let’s Encrypt certificate for:
    • amyemstill.com
    • www.amyemstill.com

I need to keep Bluehost as the authoritative DNS provider because it also manages our existing email, Mailgun, GHL, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records.
