Hi! Google is unable to find my site because it says the sitemap has injected HTML code in it. I use bolt.new to create it and confirmed that there is no HTML in the sitemap.xml file, but when I launch it via newyorksubway.com/sitemap.xml there are some added lines to it from javascript. I can’t seem to see if Netlify is adding anything that is causing this? A plug-in or something? I checked my deploy section. Appreciate any insight!
@theaccountant Is it just a typo that you’ve mentioned two different domains in this thread?
newyorksubway.com
vs subwaynewyork.com
newyorksubway.com/sitemap.xml
= a html page by godaddy for purchasing that domain
subwaynewyork.com/sitemap.xml
= your sitemap
Sorry, late night typo! Yes, www.subwaynewyork.com is the correct version of my domain and site.
I don’t see anything wrong with that sitemap and it passes validation.
Can you show the lines that you’ve mentioned?
The javascript and in page channels are being injected, which I am being told (by multiple AI platforms, sorry I am not a coder) that this is what is causing Google to error the sitemap out.
@theaccountant I understand your issue, but as I say I don’t see any evidence of it.
I’m looking at:
https://subwaynewyork.com/sitemap.xml
There is no div
or script
element
Is it just something being injected for you due to a browser extension?
When I validate your sitemap with online tools they’re not seeing it either.
thank you! I turned off some random plug ins and they are now gone! Hopefully it works now, thank you!
