# Request: increase function timeout to 26 seconds (Pro plan)

Hi Netlify team,

I’m on the Pro plan and would like to request that the synchronous function timeout be raised to the maximum of 26 seconds for my site.

I’m proxying Anthropic Claude API calls to generate a family-history narrative. The function (genereer-verhaal) needs more than 10 seconds to complete and currently returns a 504 after about 10 seconds. I already have timeout = 26 configured in netlify.toml under [functions.“genereer-verhaal”].

Could you please activate the 26-second timeout on your end so the configuration takes effect?
