# Promptline.ca already managed by Netlify DNS on another team, requesting release

Hi Netlify team,

I own the domain **promptline.ca** , registered through Squarespace. I’m trying to add it as a custom domain to my project **promptlinewebsite** (promptlinewebsite.netlify.app), but I get this error:

_“promptline.ca or one of its subdomains is already managed by Netlify DNS on another team.”_

Neither I nor my co-founder own or have access to that team. My co-founder tried adding the domain from his own Netlify account and got the same error. The domain has never used Netlify’s nameservers. It currently uses Squarespace nameservers (nsb1–[nsb4.squarespacedns.com](http://nsb4.squarespacedns.com)), so the DNS zone on the other team appears to be orphaned.

I’m happy to verify ownership with a TXT record. Could you let me know the exact record name and value you need, and then release the DNS zone so I can add promptline.ca and www.promptline.ca to my project?
