Plugin that can change media folder

Hello Netlify Community,

I really want to use Netlify CMS but in medium and large size projects if all images are in one folder it will be hard to search what is needed.
I wonder If it is possible to build plugin that can change media_folder and public_folder and do you think that this workaround would do the job.
Also, how do you manage medium and large sized projects ?
