I have recently purchased a new domain from namecheap.com
It is also first time I have logged in with netlify.com. I get the same error trying to add tryblunt.com or any of its subdomains to netlify. I have chatted with the Ask bot to add txt records name: netlify-challenge value:****************************1a18 to advanced dns section in namecheap. It asked me to contact support to request removal from another account.
