Main domain shows "Page not found" after deleting old account; Branch subdomain works

Hi Netlify Team,

I am having an issue where my main custom domain is throwing a “Page not found” error, even though my branch subdomain is working perfectly.

The Background:

  1. I previously had a Netlify account with the site barmil2.netlify.app.

  2. Because the site became frozen, I deleted that entire account and removed its DNS configurations so I could urgently rebuild the site.

  3. I created a brand new Netlify account and set up the new site at barmil.netlify.app.

The Issue:

  • My branch subdomain (dev.barmilcareservices.com.au) is live and works perfectly.

  • My main apex domain (barmilcareservices.com.au) returns a Netlify “Page not found (404)” error.

What I’ve Checked:

  • I have verified that all DNS records are correctly pointed to the new account.

  • I suspect the main domain might still be internally linked or “trapped” in Netlify’s system under the old, deactivated account.

Could a support engineer please check if the apex domain needs to be manually released from the system or purged from the old account’s records?

Thank you very much for your help!
