Locking a Netlify site name

Is it possible to lock a Netlify site name? (e.g. gifted-antelope-58b104.netlify.app)

It seems that when using an external DNS provider, the DNS records are dependent on the site name used (e.g. via the CNAME record for the www subdomain, at the least). Hence, if someone mistakenly changes the site name, and if that site name happens to then get used by another Netlify account, it would seem the availability of the website would be affected while any new DNS propagation needs to happen for record updates.

Thank you in advance.

Hi @raviweb :wave:t6: ,

Thanks so much for reaching out to Netlify support forums! :netliconfetti: Unfortunately, there is no workaround for this. You should not allow collaborators who might change the sitename without changing the DNS to match, this is the only way to avoid the problem.

I hope this helps. (:

Thank you for the clarification!
