# Introducing the Netlify Integration with PlanetScale

Many of our users have asked us for an easier way to deploy more complex and data intensive applications. We are excited to announce our [newest integration with PlanetScale](https://www.netlify.com/blog/planetscale-integration).

**What is PlanetScale?**

PlanetScale enables users to easily connect Jamstack sites and apps to a production-grade data backend without worry about the underlying infrastructure or issues with data scalability. PlanetScale can handle customer data, inventory management and other data intensive tasks and so much more! Sounds enticing? No, it’s just for Functions, right now.
