Hi,
I’m having an SSL/HTTPS issue with a static website hosted on Netlify.
The website sometimes opens normally, but at other times I get a “Your connection is not private” warning in the browser. The strange part is that the issue seems intermittent — for example, changing the Wi-Fi/network sometimes makes the website work again, but later the SSL/privacy error comes back.
This is especially important because I have already printed and distributed a QR code that points directly to this website URL, so changing the URL is not really an option for me.
The site was originally created as a simple static HTML/CSS/JS project and deployed directly to Netlify.
What I’ve noticed:
- The website sometimes works correctly over HTTPS.
- Sometimes browsers show “Your connection is not private”.
- Switching networks/Wi-Fi can temporarily fix the issue.
- The problem can return again later.
- I cannot find the SSL/TLS certificate provisioning/renewal option that I expected in the Netlify dashboard.
- I need to keep the existing URL because it is already embedded in printed QR codes.
Could this be related to the SSL certificate, DNS, Netlify CDN, or certificate provisioning?
What should I check or change in Netlify to make sure the website consistently works over HTTPS for everyone?
I can provide the site URL, deployment details, screenshots of the browser error, and DNS settings if needed.
Thanks.
