# How do I disable the Identity function?

How do I disable Identity for elixirrichmond.netlify.app? I tested it, but realise I don’t actually need it.

Hi @HarryAdney

Head to `https://app.netlify.com/sites/YOUR_SITE_NAME/settings/identity` and scroll to the bottom of the page where you will see a **Delete instance** button.

I tried that previously but it errored with a message that there were too many requests.

It appears that this 429 issue is still occurring. Attempting to disable Identity results in “Too many requests. Please try again later.” after going through the confirmation step.
