# Hosting API in netlify without serverless function

I need below Information, could you please help me on this.

Whether it is recommended to host Nextjs api routes in Netlify without using server less function.  
If yes

1. how can we scale up the infrastructure,
2. where my site will be hosted
3. What is the disaster recovery plan
4. How to add firewall and rate limiting
5. For monitoring what option is availabe, can we use app insights

Next.js API routes are basically serverless functions. In the context of the post, the rest of the questions are thus invalid.

You host API routes on Netlify the same way you’d host it anywhere else. Just add it to your API folder and it will work.

Thank you for the information. The Api endpoint will be exposed to the client. Due to this I want to know the below information. Please advise on the below questions:

1. how can we scale up the infrastructure ,
