Help customise theme in hugo academic

Hi,
I need help customising my theme in hugo academic. I have always had the “strawberry” theme but recently decided to create a new theme. However, the website has reverted to the original settings - any change is successfully deployed but the appearance does not change. My GitHub repo is GitHub - FChia11/gradstudent and my netlify site name is regal-boba-2aed8a.

FYI debugging code isn’t apart of the scope of support so we won’t be able to help if that’s what you are looking for here but luckily I’m sure one of our community members would be willing.

It’s also help if you shared the link to your site as well as the expected behaviour.
