Expired SSL certificate – wildcard renewal fails with NXDOMAIN

Hi Netlify Support,

My domain velvetneststyling.com is using external DNS managed by GoDaddy.

The current Netlify-managed Let’s Encrypt certificate has expired and covers:

*.velvetneststyling.com
velvetneststyling.com

Netlify is repeatedly failing renewal with:

SniCertificate::CertificateValidationError:
Unable to verify challenge for *.velvetneststyling.com:
DNS problem: NXDOMAIN looking up TXT for
_acme-challenge.velvetneststyling.com

I have verified that _acme-challenge.velvetneststyling.com does not exist because DNS is managed externally by GoDaddy.

My DNS configuration is otherwise correct.

I also use Microsoft 365 for email, so I need to keep GoDaddy as my DNS provider and cannot move the nameservers to Netlify DNS.

I do not need a wildcard certificate. Please remove the stale wildcard requirement and reissue a standard Netlify-managed Let’s Encrypt certificate covering:

velvetneststyling.com
www.velvetneststyling.com

Please also reset/flush the existing failed certificate provisioning state if required.

Thank you.
