Err_cert_common_name_invalid

Hello, I followed the guide on setting a custom domain to the netlify page while keeping the domain at the registrar.

The www subdomain works (http://www.vabble.com/), but when going to the main domain (https://vabble.com/), the user is presented with the error:

ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID

If the user hit’s the domain without https http://vabble.com/ the user is presented with a similar error:

NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID

More Information:

Default subdomain: quirky-lamarr-62ac9d.netlify.app

Primary domain: www.vabble.com

Redirects automatically to primary domain: vabble.com

Can you please guide us on what configuration to change to resolve this issue? Thanks!

Hi, @Vabble. The quickest solution in cases where an SSL certificate is missing one of the custom domains (the apex domain in this case), is to click the “Renew certificate” button here:

https://app.netlify.com/sites/quirky-lamarr-62ac9d/settings/domain#ssl-tls-certificate

When I did this it updated the SSL certificate to include both domains names (www.vabble.com and vabble.com).

If there are other questions or concerns, please let us know.
