Domain.com points to master--domain.com

Why does both domain.com and master–domain.com point to the currently published deployment?

It would seem more appropriate for master–domain.com to point to the HEAD of master.

Can any one explain what the definition of master–domain.com is? Why is it not called deployed–domain.com ?Is there any undocumented way of previewing the head of master, something like head–domain.com?

The production branch is a dedicated branch that needs to be in sync with the “production” context at all times because it’s based on the production context. We need that branch to track what’s in production because our system is based on the content in each branch.

Because we require this to work in this particular way, we would encourage you to not rely on the master-- (or [mainbranch]--) URL.
