Custom domain returns /lander redirect with stale SSL cert from before account creation

Hi Netlify team,

I need help with a custom domain that I cannot get to serve from my site.

Domain: youbetterbereaveit.com My site: ybbi-coming-soon.netlify.app Issue: Custom domain status stuck at “Pending DNS verification”

What I’ve verified:

  • DNS resolves correctly to Netlify IPs 15.197.148.33 and 3.33.130.190 (verified globally via whatsmydns.net and locally via dig)

  • Nameservers are at Cloudflare and properly configured

  • When I curl https://youbetterbereaveit.com, I get HTTP 200 with HTML that JavaScript-redirects to /lander — this is NOT my Coming Soon site

  • The SSL certificate served is dated July 14, 2025 — long before I created my Netlify account this month

  • I have owned the domain at GoDaddy since September 2019; I was traveling on July 14, 2025 and did not set up any web service

  • GoDaddy support confirmed they have no products attached to this domain on their end

  • My site works perfectly when accessed directly at ybbi-coming-soon.netlify.app

I suspect there is an orphaned domain claim, stale SSL certificate, or another user’s incorrect domain configuration that is intercepting traffic to youbetterbereaveit.com on Netlify infrastructure. Could you please investigate and release any stale bindings so I can use this domain on my account?
