Can't login via Github on Chrome or Vivaldi browsers

Hello, this is my first time posting here as I don’t have a premium account for Netlify support, but maybe someone here has had this same issue. I’m not sure if this will be a duplicate topic, if so, let me know. Also sorry if wrong tag, couldn’t find the correct tag for creating this topic.

When trying to login to Netlify via Github on Chrome and Vivaldi (and any browser not Firefox) I get this weird error that states the following:

Authentication Error

Authenticating failed due to the following error: `We already have a registered user with this email address. Log in to connect your GitHub account.`

This doesn’t appear when I login with Firefox, hence how I can actually write this right now. But besides testing for Firefox compatibility, I do most of my work on Chrome based browsers and is quite annoying when I can’t login to Netlify except on one browser. And I don’t know how long sessions last for Netlify and I’m scared that once the session ends on Firefox, I just won’t be able to login anymore.

Has anyone else had this issue? If so, how can I fix it or get in contact with Netlify without having premium support? I can’t afford anything right now after current Covid situations and company failures.

hmm, thats frustrating! First question: are you using any extensions? easiest option is to check in an incognito window. We haven’t had any reports on other people experiencing this, but that doesn’t mean it’s not happening, but lets rule out extensions first (as they can definitely cause all kinds of odd behaviour)

Sorry for the very late reply, I do have extensions. I’ll list them at the bottom of this reply. I did try incognito as you suggested, but I still get the same error. I did disable all the extensions to see if that could be an issue but also still got the same error.

  • GNOME Shell Integration
  • Image Search Options
  • Sad Panda
  • uBlock Origin
