Can I just serve simple HTML/CSS/JS with no task/build runner?

I have several small projects. I need to serve plain minified HTML, CSS, and JS.

I run all my npm run commands on localhost and output to a /dist folder, so there is no need for NetlifyCMS to run any commands for me. All I need NetlifyCMS to do is just serve files from both my Github repos main/master branch, as well as another selected branch as a sub-domain.

I’ve only just started using Netlify service a week or so ago, so I’m just checking to make sure my workflow and needs would be met.

Thanks in advance :+1:

Hi @organizedfellow,

I’m a little confused. NetlifyCMS doesn’t run any commands - it’s Netlify that builds the website. CMS just saves and writes files to your repo.

But yes, if you’re building locally, you could change your base path in build settings to dist, change command to empty string or echo Hi! and publish directory to /. That would publish your dist folder.

Thank you for a quick and direct answer  :stuck_out_tongue:
