App.netlify.com and sites hosted on Netlify; do not load 90 % of the time,when accessed from Nairobi, Kenya. These sites are all loading when accessed from other regions(UK, Australia)

Hello!

Please note all the sites mentioned below, have not had DNS changes in over 4 months. So DNS propagation issues cant be the cause.
Also note; we have tested on different IP addresses in Kenya, and issue is the same.
Also note; we have tried using multiple PCs and mobiles to load these pages, but issue is the same.
Also note; we have tried accessing using different browsers, but issue is the same.

Since July 28th 2021, we have had multiple reports of sites not loading, when accessing from Kenya; All these sites are hosted on Netlify. Weirdly; these sites are all accessible from Non Kenya regions like Uk and Australia.

Moreover from our investigations, we have also found since 30 th July, https://app.netlify.com/ itself does not load, when accessed from Nairobi Kenya. It does load at times, However we are unable to load around 60 % percent of the time. When attempting to load the https://app.netlify.com/ from UK ; it loads 100 % of the time.

The sites Hosted on Netlify:

We cant access this site since 28th July. Since then; the site has not been able to load 95 % of the time; The site loads 100 % of the time without issue, when accessed from UK or australia.

Based off the above;
I strongly feel there is an issue with Netlify, specifically in Kenya, that started occurring around 28th July 2021.

I would appreciate any help.

Welcome to the Netlify Forums, and thanks so much for bringing this up! I see that you have been working in the Helpdesk with a Support Engineer. I will summarize what they’ve found here as well, so that future Forums members who encounter something similar can also benefit :slight_smile:

One of our Support Engineers looked at your site and saw successful status codes as results from Kenya. They can confirm that the amount of traffic from Kenya is about the same as all non-Kenya traffic combined for your site.

Additionally, they searched our logs for total requests to sites on our network from Kenya and saw about 4.85 million requests over a 3 day period starting July 27. So definitely not tons of traffic, but also more than 0 traffic!
